Wallpaper - A Ball of Sunshine

Created by artist Kate Jarvik Birch, our A Ball of Sunshine wallpaper brings a bold, painterly still life directly to your walls. The design centres on a ripe, vibrant citrus fruit with lush green leaves, set against crisp Mediterranean-style blue and white vertical stripes. Painted brushstrokes and rich tonal highlights give the motif an expressive, artistic character with distinct visual depth. Like all Wallism wallpapers, this mural wallpaper is made-to-measure to fit your wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

We love this design as an energetic feature wall where its graphic scale and saturated palette can take centre stage. In a kitchen or dining area, the fresh combination of cobalt blue stripes and warm citrus orange creates an inviting, lively backdrop around a dining table or breakfast nook.

Because the motif features a large focal subject against vertical lines, it works particularly well on an uninterrupted wall with plenty of breathing room. The vertical stripes draw the eye upward, making it an engaging choice for a sunlit hallway, an inspiring home office, or a creative breakfast area where a punch of cheerful colour adds personality to the space.

Styling it

When styling around this design, we suggest balancing the bold graphic stripes and punchy orange motif with relaxed, grounded furnishings. Mid-toned or lighter woods such as birch, light oak, or beech complement the warm tones of the fruit while keeping the overall room feeling bright and airy.

To keep the focal point on the wallpaper, opt for clean-lined furniture and simple tableware. Subtle textures like woven seagrass, matte ceramic dinnerware, and simple off-white canvas or cotton seat cushions echo the casual, sun-drenched feel of the artwork without competing with its visual rhythm.

Colour combinations

The design is built on a high-contrast palette of bright tangerine orange, leafy olive and emerald greens, deep navy, vibrant cobalt blue, and fresh off-white.

To create a balanced interior, we recommend drawing from the neutral off-white background for your surrounding walls, trim, and woodwork. If you prefer a richer, more cohesive atmosphere, pulling a deep navy or marine blue from the stripes onto adjacent accent cabinetry, doors, or window frames anchors the room beautifully. Warm terracotta, ochre, or mustard accents in smaller decorative objects will naturally echo the vibrant glow of the citrus fruit.
