Wallpaper - Lakeside II

Created by Leslie Trimbach, our Lakeside II wallpaper captures a lively freshwater scene rendered with a delicate, watercolor-inspired quality. At the heart of the composition, a largemouth bass leaps dynamically from the water amid splashing ripples, framed by water lilies and floating pads. Reeds and cattails rise along the foreground, while a duck in flight and distant hills complete the tranquil landscape beneath vintage-style "LAKESIDE" lettering accented with small berry sprigs. Rendered in a soothing palette of muted moss greens, watery blues, soft earthy browns, and off-white, this mural wallpaper brings a charming natural touch to an interior. Like all our wallpapers, it is custom made-to-measure and PVC-free, with a subtle structure in the paper that lends depth to the illustrated artwork.

In the room

We see this wall mural working particularly well in spaces where you want a playful yet grounded nature theme. In a children's room, nursery, or hobby space, it creates an engaging accent wall behind a low bed, reading nook, or desk. Because the central fish motif and flying duck carry strong focal energy, giving the design an uninterrupted wall allows the complete lake composition and open sky to breathe naturally.

In a casual entryway, mudroom, or lakeside cabin living space, the vertical rhythm of the cattails along the base helps ground the lower third of the room, while the lighter water and sky keep the upper wall feeling open.

Styling it

To balance the detailed illustrative style and vintage-inspired typography of this design, we suggest keeping surrounding furnishings relatively simple and natural.

• Pair with warm, mid-tone woods or painted furniture in creamy off-white or soft sage green to complement the rustic lakeside character.
• Choose quiet, tactile fabrics such as washed cotton or woven wool in unpatterned, earthy neutrals to let the mural wallpaper remain the clear visual centerpiece.
• Introduce understated accessories in matte black iron or antique brass, echoing the hand-drawn outlines within the artwork without overwhelming the scene.

Colour combinations

The illustration relies on a gentle, natural palette of sage and moss greens, faded denim blues, soft ochre, and warm reeds against an off-white paper tone. When selecting paint colors for adjacent walls, trim, or cabinetry, pulling out the warm off-white background creates a soft, continuous backdrop. For a slightly more defined look, muted slate blue or dusty olive green on surrounding woodwork provides a handsome, tailored frame that mirrors the water and lily pads.
