Wallpaper - Beyond the Border Wall I

Our Beyond the Border Wall I wallpaper mural by Nathan Larson captures the layered depth of distant desert mountains under an expansive, warm sky. Soft shades of hazy indigo, muted slate blue, and dusty purple silhouette against a luminous pale gold and cream horizon, giving the scene an open, atmospheric horizon. The horizontal composition and gentle gradation between cool mountain ridges and warm light create a quiet visual rhythm across the wall. Printed made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, this design brings a serene, panoramic landscape into the home while remaining easy to hang.

In the room

Because of its strong horizontal composition and panoramic depth, we see this design working particularly well on a wider, relatively uninterrupted wall. In a living room behind a low-profile sofa or in a bedroom behind a headboard, the low mountain ridges anchor the lower third of the space while the open sky draws the eye upward, giving the room a lighter, more expansive feel. In an entryway or hallway, placing this wall mural along a longer wall creates a sense of continuous distance as you move past. In generous daylight, the delicate shifts in blue and misty purple tones become especially distinct, while soft evening lighting enhances the warm, glowing character of the upper sky.

Styling it

We would keep the surrounding furniture lower to the ground so the silhouettes of the mountains remain visible across the room. Simple, unadorned silhouettes in mid-century or contemporary interiors complement the clean, natural horizon line of the design. To echo the organic warmth of the landscape without overpowering it, warm wood tones such as teak or warm ash work nicely alongside matte black or dark bronze accents that ground the deeper tones in the mountain ridges. Keeping surrounding fabrics quiet and neutral lets the mural wallpaper serve as the main focal point of the interior.

Colour combinations

The design itself features dusty blues, slate, indigo, and soft purple-grey against warm ivory, pale ochre, and soft golden yellow. To complement these tones on adjacent walls or trim, we would look toward warm off-whites, creamy parchment, or soft muted taupe to connect with the luminous sky. If you want a deeper accent in surrounding woodwork, cabinetry, or furniture, a dark slate or midnight blue creates a deliberate connection to the foreground mountain ridges.
