Wallpaper - Drift I

Our Drift I wallpaper, created with artist Yvette St. Amant, brings a fluid, gestural composition into the room through layered brushwork and soft tonal transitions. Broad washes of warm grey, beige, and cream meet expressive strokes of deep umber and bright opaque white, giving the surface an atmospheric, painterly presence without feeling heavy. We designed this wall mural to balance open neutral ground with subtle visual movement, allowing the sweeping textures to add gentle depth across the room. Like all of our wallpapers, Drift I is made-to-measure to your supplied wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper.

In the room

In a living room or bedroom, we see this design working especially well on a wide, uninterrupted wall behind a sofa or low bed where the full gestural rhythm has space to unfold. Because the composition balances airy, lighter areas on one side with denser brushwork on the other, it creates an asymmetric flow that naturally draws the eye across the space. The soft transitions and neutral palette also make this mural wallpaper comfortable in dining areas or a home office, where it adds visual character without distracting from everyday work.

Styling it

When styling around our Drift I design, we suggest keeping large furniture relatively clean and understated so the fluid brush marks remain the focal point. Low-profile seating with tactile woven textiles or linen upholstery sits naturally against the soft background tones. To ground the lighter areas of the wall, we like introducing deeper accents through warm dark wood, blackened metal fixtures, or simple ceramic forms that echo the darker umber strokes in the pattern.

Colour combinations

Our wallpaper features a balanced palette of warm grey, soft beige, muted taupe, and layered creams, accented by crisp white highlights and dark earthy umber. For adjacent painted walls and woodwork, we recommend continuing the quiet neutral feel with soft off-white, warm stone, or pale greige. If you prefer stronger contrast on skirting boards, doors, or cabinetry, a muted charcoal or deep espresso brown will highlight the darker accents in the artwork.
