Wallpaper - Moonlit Garden IV

Our Moonlit Garden IV wallpaper, created by Katie Pertiet, brings together delicate botanical illustration, vintage French script, and detailed bird motifs over a soft, layered background. Illustrated songbirds perch among airy floral clusters and fluttering butterflies, surrounded by faded postal ephemera and subtle washes of sage, pale blue, cream, and warm stone. The collage-style composition creates a quiet, nostalgic atmosphere with intricate visual texture that invites closer looking. Like all our wall murals, this design is made-to-measure to fit your wall dimensions, printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical surface structure, and designed to be straightforward to hang.

In the room

We see this wallpaper working beautifully in spaces where you want a gentle, vintage-inspired focal point without overwhelming the room. In a bedroom, placing this design on the wall behind the headboard gives the room an intimate, romantic backdrop while keeping the overall palette soft and restful. It also suits a dressing room, guest bedroom, or a quiet home office where the fine script and layered botanical details can be appreciated at close range. Because the background tones are light and airy, the design works equally well in smaller rooms and on wider, uninterrupted walls.

Styling it

To complement the vintage, layered character of our mural wallpapers, we recommend pairing them with painted furniture in soft off-whites, warm taupes, or muted sage greens. Light antique finishes or naturally aged woods sit comfortably alongside the heritage feel of the illustration. Keep surrounding textiles relatively simple: washed linens, soft cotton weaves, or delicate sheer drapery allow the intricate script and flora to remain the central focus of the space.

Colour combinations

The design features a nuanced palette of soft cream, antique parchment, muted sage green, pale sky blue, and charcoal grey detailing in the illustrated birds. When decorating the rest of the room, you can draw directly from these tones by using warm chalky whites or pale greys on adjacent walls, woodwork, and ceilings. For a slightly richer contrast, deeper muted tones like charcoal, dusty olive, or faded French navy in decorative accents help ground the lighter background of the wallpaper.
