Wallpaper - Push Pull I

Our Push Pull I wallpaper by June Erica Vess brings together broad, expressive brushstrokes in a balanced abstract composition. We particularly like the dialogue between deep slate teal, warm taupe, muted beige, and chalky off-white, where layered sweeps of color create architectural geometry with an expressive, painterly character. The large-scale planes and confident diagonals give the motif a graphic presence while retaining visible brushwork across the surface. Made-to-measure to your exact wall dimensions, our wallpapers are printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical surface structure.

In the room

Because of the bold, painterly blocks and strong directional movement, we see this design working especially well on a wide, uninterrupted feature wall. In a living room behind a low-profile sofa or along an open dining room wall, the large abstract forms have the space they need to breathe without feeling cramped. In a bedroom, placing it behind the headboard grounds the space with deep, grounding tones while keeping the upper visual plane light and open.

The interplay of lighter chalk tones and deep teal-grey means the design reacts beautifully to changing ambient light. In daylight, the subtle tonal shifts in the taupe and off-white areas stand out clearly, while softer evening lamplight draws out the moody depth of the darker sections.

Styling it

To let the graphic artwork take center stage, we recommend pairing this wallpaper with furniture that features clean silhouettes and understated detailing.

• Introduce warm, medium-toned woods such as walnut or natural ash to echo the earthy taupe planes within the design.
• Choose upholstery in textured off-white or charcoal fabrics to connect directly with the contrasting brushstrokes.
• Keep wall decor on adjacent walls minimal, allowing the sweeping movement of the mural wallpaper to serve as the room's main visual anchor.

Colour combinations

The design itself is built on a sophisticated palette of deep teal-black, warm taupe, stone beige, and crisp chalk white.

When painting surrounding walls or woodwork, a soft greige or warm off-white creates a seamless transition that enhances the lighter sections of the motif. If you want a more cocooning, dramatic atmosphere, pulling the deep slate or dark teal tone onto adjacent trims, doors, or built-in cabinetry balances the darker blocks in the artwork effortlessly.
