Wallpaper - Assemblage I

Our Assemblage I wallpaper by Courtney Prahl brings together a layered collage composition inspired by mixed-media paper craft and tactile ephemera. The design combines visual fragments of woven burlap-like texture, aged lined ledger paper with delicate handwritten script, torn kraft paper, and brush-painted swatches alongside patterned cutouts in soft white, earthy brown, muted grey, and warm beige. What we particularly appreciate about this mural wallpaper is the balance between organic torn edges and structured geometric blocks, creating an artful, studio-crafted character on the wall. Produced as a custom made-to-measure wallpaper, our PVC-free paper features a subtle surface structure that complements the intricate visual details.

In the room

We see this design working particularly well in spaces where you want to introduce warmth, artistic character, and a relaxed, collected feel. In a home office, study, or reading nook, the vintage paper motifs and handwritten script create a contemplative backdrop that feels personal and layered.

Because the collage features distinct sections and contrasting textures, we recommend giving this wallpaper a prominent, relatively uninterrupted wall, such as behind a desk, along an open dining wall, or behind a low-profile headboard in a bedroom. The warm neutral palette keeps the design grounded and approachable, allowing it to add visual interest without overwhelming the room. In rooms with soft, indirect daylight or warm directional lamps, the subtle tonal shifts between the parchment, kraft, and grey elements become especially engaging.

Styling it

When styling around Assemblage I, we prefer leaning into simple, well-crafted furniture and natural materials that echo the artisan, collected mood of the artwork.

• Choose furniture in warm, mid-tone woods like walnut, teak, or honey oak, or opt for matte black metal accents that cleanly anchor the collage's darker details.
• Bring in textured textiles such as slubby linen curtains, chunky wool throws, or natural jute rugs that mirror the visual burlap and woven elements within the pattern.
• Keep wall decor on adjacent walls quiet and minimal, perhaps focusing on ceramic vessels, simple framed sketches, or sculptural lighting rather than competing multi-colored art.

Colour combinations

The verified palette in our wallpaper features a harmonious blend of warm kraft brown, aged parchment cream, soft heather grey, muted off-white, and subtle charcoal accents, with delicate faint red and blue ledger lines.

To create a cohesive interior, we suggest pulling the warm cream or sandy beige tones onto surrounding painted walls and woodwork for a seamless, enveloping atmosphere. For a more graphic, contemporary contrast, pairing the wallpaper with chalky charcoal or deep espresso accents in shelving, picture frames, or furniture frames draws out the darker print fragments. Muted olive green, soft terracotta, or warm clay ceramics also make wonderful accent colors that sit naturally alongside the earthy neutral base.
