Wallpaper - Paddock DAys

Our Paddock Days wallpaper, created with Nathan Larson, captures an intimate close-up profile of a horse with a distinctive white blaze running down its face. What we particularly like about this design is the photographic depth, softened by a vintage, weathered tonal quality in warm sepia and muted charcoal grey. The large scale of the portrait brings immediate presence to an interior without overwhelming the room with harsh contrast. Like all Wallism wallpapers, this mural is made-to-measure to fit your specific wall dimensions and is entirely PVC-free.

In the room

Because of the bold, large-scale composition, we think this design works exceptionally well on a wide, uninterrupted accent wall. In a living room behind a low-profile sofa or across a primary bedroom wall behind the bed, the gentle curve of the horse's neck creates a natural focal point that anchors the entire space. We also see this mural wallpaper working beautifully in a study, home office, or quiet hallway where the vintage photographic character adds a considered, reflective mood to the room.

Styling it

To balance the strong visual presence of the portrait, we would keep the surrounding furniture relatively grounded and uncluttered. Warm, natural wood finishes like aged oak or walnut sit comfortably alongside the sepia tones, while textured upholstery in woven wool or soft linen helps complement the tactile, vintage aesthetic of the print.

Under natural daylight, the subtle details in the horse's coat and the soft highlights around the muzzle stand out clearly. In the evening, pairing the wall mural with warm accent lighting or shaded table lamps enhances the deep tonal shadows and creates an inviting, atmospheric environment.

Colour combinations

The palette in this design is built around earthy sepia, deep charcoal, soft cream, and muted grey tones. When planning your surrounding walls, we recommend pairing this wallpaper with soft, warm neutrals such as creamy off-white, light greige, or pale taupe on adjacent surfaces. If you prefer deeper contrast, charcoal trim or dark, muted bronze accents echo the dark tones in the mane and add architectural definition to the space.
