Wallpaper - Marshland Tranquility

Our Marshland Tranquility wallpaper, created with artist Carson Overstreet, brings an open, painterly wetland landscape into the home. Broad brushstrokes depict quiet water reflecting a soft sky, framed by layered reeds, grassy banks, and a deep treeline across the horizon. The composition has an impressionistic, oil-painted character with visible canvas and brush texture in the artwork, balanced by a restrained palette of pale watery blues, soft sage, muted olive, and warm off-white. Like all our wall murals, this design is made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical surface structure.

In the room

Because the artwork features a continuous horizontal landscape with an expansive sky and reflective water, we see this working particularly well across a wider, uninterrupted feature wall. In a living room or behind a headboard in a bedroom, the open perspective naturally draws the eye outward, giving the room an airy and balanced visual depth. The design also suits a quiet dining space or a dedicated home study, where the soft transitions between water and greenery create an understated, restful backdrop. In rooms with generous natural daylight, the subtle tonal shifts within the water and the varied greens across the reeds become especially noticeable.

Styling it

To let the painterly brushwork and open horizon take centre stage, we would pair this design with quietly proportioned furniture in warm natural woods like ash, pale oak, or warm walnut. Clean silhouettes keep the overall room scheme feeling modern and uncrowded.

For textiles, simple woven cushions, lightweight linen drapery, or a flatweave wool rug in neutral tones help anchor the space without competing with the landscape. Adding subtle ceramic or matte stoneware accents in muted earth tones complements the organic, grounded feel of the marshland motif.

Colour combinations

The design itself is built around a palette of soft sky blue, pale grey-green, deep moss, olive, and creamy off-white highlights across the water.

When choosing paint colours and materials for adjacent walls, trim, or larger furnishings, we recommend pulling directly from these earthy undertones. Warm off-whites and pale misty greys create a seamless, soft continuation around the room. For a deeper, more grounded contrast, rich olive or muted forest green on cabinetry, doors, or accent furniture draws out the darker foliage in the treeline.
