Wallpaper - Thorns of The Frontier I

Our Thorns of The Frontier I wallpaper by Nikita Jariwala brings together a painterly potted prickly pear cactus in full bloom against a warm blush pink backdrop. What we particularly like about this design is the balance between the bold, layered brushstrokes of the green pads and the delicate pale pink blossoms sprouting from their edges. The patterned pot features earthy geometric and leafy motifs in soft gold and white, resting on a warm terracotta surface. Made-to-measure and PVC-free, our wallpaper has a subtle structure in the paper that complements the painted character of the motif, making it an inviting focal point for living spaces, bedrooms, or home offices.

In the room

Because the composition centers around a bold, painted botanical still life, we see this wall mural working particularly well as an accent wall in a living room, dining area, or creative home office. In a bedroom, placing this design on the wall behind a bed or low headboard lets the cactus and its blooming flowers anchor the entire space without feeling cluttered.

For smaller spaces like a cozy reading nook, entryway, or powder room, the defined scale of the pot and plant creates an immediate sense of character without overwhelming the room. Giving the mural a relatively open wall allows the warm background and distinct painted textures of the table and foliage to remain fully visible.

Styling it

To complement the artisanal, illustrative feel of this design, we would lean into warm, relaxed furnishings that highlight its terracotta and botanical tones.

Low-profile furniture in light oak, warm ash, or painted cream finishes works beautifully against the pink and terracotta base, keeping the overall atmosphere grounded and bright. For soft furnishings, smooth linen cushions or a simple wool rug in neutral oatmeal or off-white help balance the lively painted strokes of the wallpaper without competing for visual attention.

Colour combinations

Our wallpaper features vibrant leaf and olive greens, blush pink, soft white, ochre, and rich terracotta brown.

When choosing colors for adjoining walls, trim, or larger furniture, we suggest working with warm off-whites, soft creams, or muted sand tones to let the mural stand out effortlessly. For a richer, more enveloping feel, pulling a matching dusty rose or a warm terracotta onto neighboring painted surfaces creates a unified, sun-drenched palette across the room.
