Wallpaper - Dusky

Our Dusky wallpaper, created with Pamela Munger, captures an evocative landscape scene defined by quiet twilight tones and painterly brushwork. The composition looks out past shadowed foreground foliage and warm earthy grasses toward a still lake, framed beneath an expansive sky of shifting grey, soft blue, and faint blush-tinted clouds. Visible painted textures give the scenery a relaxed, artistic presence across the wall, while the subdued contrast between dark evergreen silhouettes and pale water creates a gentle sense of depth. Made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical surface structure, this design brings a calm, expressive focal point to any interior.

In the room

We see this landscape working especially well on a main feature wall in a living room, bedroom, or dining room where the wider horizon line has space to breathe. Because the upper two-thirds of the mural wallpapers composition is dominated by open sky and soft cloud formations, the design keeps higher wall areas visually light even as the deeper tones anchor the base.

In a bedroom, positioning the design behind a low headboard allows the warm ochre foreground and tranquil lake to sit naturally at eye level. For a living area or study, placing it along an uninterrupted wall behind a sofa creates an immersive backdrop without overwhelming the surrounding space. The softer blues and muted earth tones interact beautifully with natural daylight, revealing the delicate painterly strokes across the clouds and water throughout the day.

Styling it

To complement the rich, natural palette of our wall murals, we suggest pairing the wallpaper with furniture in warm, mid-toned wood or muted painted finishes that echo the earthy foreground. Keeping the surrounding pieces grounded and simple allows the expressive landscape to remain the visual hero of the room.

For upholstery and curtains, look to gentle neutrals like oatmeal, soft taupe, or deep mossy greens that pull from the dark woodland silhouettes. Matte ceramic accents, woven wool throws, or vintage brass details will sit comfortably alongside the painterly aesthetic without competing for attention.

Colour combinations

The design itself is built on a sophisticated balance of deep forest greens, charcoal, warm ochre, muted sky blue, and dusky pinkish-grey.

When choosing paint colours for adjoining walls and trim, softer off-whites with subtle warm undertones create a clean transition that honours the light in the sky. For a cosier, more enveloping atmosphere, consider pulling the deeper charcoal-green from the treeline or a warm biscuit tone from the foreground grasses onto adjacent walls, woodwork, or built-in cabinetry.
