Wallpaper - Sparkiling River

Created by Julia Purinton, our Sparkling River wallpaper mural captures an atmospheric, painterly riverbank landscape bathed in soft, diffused light. Deep forest greens, muted olive tones, and earthy charcoal shadows define the dense foliage on the left, leading the eye toward misty water that mirrors a glowing moon or low sun. The composition balances dark, richly layered foreground forms with an open, tranquil horizon, creating depth without overwhelming visual clutter. Our made-to-measure mural wallpapers are PVC-free and produced with a subtle structure in the wallpaper paper, making them straightforward to hang in any home.

In the room

We see this landscape mural working especially well across a main living room wall, behind a sofa, or serving as a calm focal point in a master bedroom. Because the motif is anchored by deep foliage on one side while opening up to calm water and sky on the other, it thrives on a wider, uninterrupted wall area where the full panorama can unfold naturally. In a quiet dining room or a dedicated study, the muted earth tones and painterly depth add character and warmth without demanding loud contrast.

Styling it

The rich, natural palette of this wallpaper pairs effortlessly with understated furniture and organic finishes. We would style the space around it with warm, natural wood tones such as walnut or vintage oak to complement the deep earth tones of the riverbank. Simple, textural fabrics like woven linen or soft wool upholstery in off-white, taupe, or deep moss green maintain the relaxed, atmospheric character of the room. Keeping surrounding accessories uncluttered lets the landscape serve as the visual center of the interior.

Colour combinations

The motif itself is built on a refined palette of deep forest green, mossy olive, soft charcoal, misty river gray, and pale hazy cream. When selecting surrounding wall paint, trim, or larger furniture, we suggest looking to these muted undertones. A soft, warm greige or chalky muted olive on adjacent walls will seamlessly blend with the misty riverbanks, while accents in charcoal or antique bronze can pick up on the darker silhouette of the trees for a grounded, cohesive feel.
