Wallpaper - Abstract Stems VIII

Our Abstract Stems VIII wallpaper, designed by Cheryl Warrick, brings together graphic botanical shapes and a subtle architectural grid. Bold coral-red floral heads arch on olive green stems alongside stylized leaves, creating a clean yet expressive visual rhythm across a pale blush tiled backdrop. A soft painted-looking texture gives the botanical forms warmth, while the fine grid lines introduce structure to the organic curves. Made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, this design is simple to hang and adds an artistic, modern focal point to your interior.

In the room

We love seeing this design applied to a feature wall where the scale of the botanical forms can be fully appreciated. In a living room, it works naturally behind a low-backed sofa, allowing the upward movement of the stems and leaves to draw the eye vertically. In a bedroom or guest room, placing the mural wallpaper behind a simple headboard creates an inviting, artful focal point without overwhelming the rest of the space. Because the backdrop features an open, pale grid, the pattern balances visual interest with plenty of negative space, making it equally effective in compact entryways, dining areas, or a creative home office.

Styling it

The interplay of organic floral curves and geometric grid lines makes this design especially versatile for contemporary and mid-century modern interiors. We suggest pairing it with furniture that echoes its clean silhouettes:

• Low-profile furniture in light wood or warm oak provides an organic foundation that complements the earthy green foliage.
• Upholstered seating in neutral cream, oatmeal, or warm terracotta extends the palette of the petals while keeping the surrounding room grounded.
• Accents in matte black or brushed brass subtly mirror the structured grid background and introduce a sharp, modern contrast.

Colour combinations

The design centres around rich coral red and muted olive greens set over a soft, pale blush and cream grid. To create a cohesive look across adjacent walls, we recommend pulling directly from these background tones with warm off-white, chalky linen, or a delicate dusty pink. If you prefer deeper contrast, furniture or cabinetry finished in deep moss green, muted terracotta, or warm cinnamon will pull out the richer tones in the botanical elements.
