Wallpaper - Through the Snowstorm

Our Through the Snowstorm wallpaper, created by Nathan Larson, captures the stark silhouette of a bird in flight against an atmospheric swirl of falling snow. The composition balances deep charcoal and black tones against a textured, muted grey sky filled with fine, speckled grains of snow. The distinct contrast and wide, open negative space give this mural wallpaper an expansive, graphic character. Like all Wallism wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure to your specific wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

In a living room, we would give this wall mural a wide, uninterrupted wall where the flight path and the vast snowy expanse have plenty of space to unfold. The graphic silhouette acts as a natural focal point across the room, while the textured, quiet backdrop keeps the wall feeling open rather than busy. We also see this design working well on a feature wall in a home office or study, where the quiet composition sets a grounded atmosphere behind a desk. In a bedroom, positioning the wallpaper behind a lower headboard ensures that the silhouette and the movement across the upper sky remain clearly visible.

Styling it

Because the design carries a bold graphic silhouette against a textured, grain-like sky, we would keep the surrounding interior clean and architectural. Low-profile furniture with simple lines allows the open scale of the artwork to remain dominant. Darker wood tones or painted black elements echo the deep silhouette of the bird, anchoring the lower portion of the room without competing with the motif. Understated, woven upholstery in neutral tones helps maintain visual balance across the rest of the space.

Colour combinations

Our wallpaper is built on a focused monochrome palette of deep charcoal, soft graphite, and cool mist greys. To frame the design naturally, we suggest using off-white, chalky pale grey, or deeper slate tones on adjacent painted walls and woodwork. If you want to introduce gentle warmth to the room, muted taupe, warm stone, or subtle earthy umber in larger furniture pieces and curtains will soften the cool mood of the snowstorm without disrupting the clean graphic contrast.
