Wallpaper - Folk Animals IV

Created by Omar Escalante, our Folk Animals IV wallpaper brings a distinct folk-art character to the wall with its stylized donkey illustration, muted sage green backdrop, and vibrant diamond border in deep pink. The central animal figure is rendered in bold black with cream textural details and an ornamental saddle, accompanied by desert cacti, playful stars, and flowing blue-and-white water lines. Like all our mural wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, making it easy to introduce a spirited, narrative accent to your interior.

In the room

We love this design as a statement wall where its complete illustrated scene can be appreciated without heavy visual interruption. In a living room or dining area, placing the wallpaper behind a lower credenza, sofa, or dining bench keeps the central animal figure and geometric border in clear view. It also brings a warm, imaginative energy to a home office, guest bedroom, or creative studio space. Because the artwork functions like a framed visual story, it works particularly well on an accent wall in a compact room or entryway, where the bold contrast and decorative framing create an engaging focal point from the moment you step inside.

Styling it

Because our design carries rich folk-art detailing and lively outlines, we recommend balancing it with relatively simple furniture silhouettes. Mid-tone or warm woods such as oak and teak pair naturally with the earthier notes in the saddle and the desert motif. Keeping surrounding upholstery and larger furniture in calm, unpatterned fabrics allows the wallpaper to serve as the primary visual focus in the space. Handcrafted ceramic pieces, matte terracotta accents, or simple woven textures complement the rustic character of the illustration without competing for attention.

Colour combinations

The motif combines a soft sage green ground with deep black, creamy off-white, vibrant magenta, and accents of cactus green, terracotta, and denim blue. For adjacent walls and painted trim, a soft warm white or muted sandy beige keeps the room bright while echoing the cream tones in the illustration. If you want a more cocooning scheme, drawing out the terracotta tones from the saddle or opting for a deep olive green on surrounding surfaces provides a grounded, cohesive backdrop that frames the artwork beautifully.
