Wallpaper - Push Pull II

Our Push Pull II wallpaper, created by artist June Erica Vess, brings the expressive energy of abstract expressionism into a refined interior scale. Broad, gestural brushstrokes sweep across the wall in overlapping horizontal and vertical planes, balancing deep charcoal and slate tones against soft beige, taupe, warm grey, and layered off-white. What we particularly appreciate is how the painterly visual texture and varied stroke density give the composition continuous movement without overwhelming the space. Printed to your exact wall measurements, our PVC-free wallpapers feature a subtle physical structure in the paper that complements the painted appearance of the artwork.

In the room

Because of its painterly scale and horizontal rhythm, we see this mural wallpaper working particularly well on a main living room wall or behind a low bed frame in a bedroom. The broad strokes need some breathing room to be fully appreciated, making a wider uninterrupted wall ideal for capturing the complete balance between the lighter washes and dense, darker blocks of tone. In an open-plan dining space or a dedicated study, Push Pull II acts as an artistic anchor, adding graphic structure to the room while keeping the overall atmosphere grounded and architectural.

Styling it

When styling around this design, we suggest letting the dynamic geometry of the brushwork take center stage while keeping major furniture pieces relatively clean-lined. Low-profile seating in textured woven upholstery or smooth matte leather echoes the modern gallery feel of the artwork. To balance the cooler slate tones, introduce warm natural wood such as walnut or stained oak in coffee tables, shelving, or credenzas. Black metal accents on light fixtures or chair legs can also pick up on the deep charcoal strokes, helping the entire room feel cohesive and deliberately curated.

Colour combinations

The motif itself is built on a sophisticated neutral foundation of warm taupe, pale beige, creamy white, soft grey, and deep slate-black. To extend this palette into the rest of the room, we recommend pairing adjacent walls with a muted warm off-white or a stony greige that matches the lighter paint layers in the design. If you prefer a moodier, more enveloping space, picking up the darkest charcoal tone on interior doors, trim, or surrounding built-in shelving creates a striking, gallery-inspired contrast that frames our wall murals beautifully.
