Wallpaper - Modern Petals VI

Our Modern Petals VI wallpaper by Cheryl Warrick brings together an expressive arrangement of stylized botanical blooms against a rich, deep blue backdrop. The composition combines bold floral shapes in warm tones of rose pink, blush, burnt orange, golden yellow, and deep red, interspersed with soft green foliage and delicate dotted accents. Each petal and leaf carries a softly textured, painted-looking finish that gives the floral forms a distinctive visual depth. Like all our wall murals, this design is made-to-measure to fit your specific wall dimensions on PVC-free paper with a subtle paper structure, offering a vibrant focal point that enlivens interior spaces.

In the room

The dense, graphic scale of this floral composition makes it especially effective on a main feature wall where the full spectrum of color and flower forms can be seen together. In a living room or bedroom, we would place this design on a primary wall behind a sofa or bed headboard, letting the wallpaper anchor the space. It also works wonderfully in a dining room, entryway, or home office where the interplay of bright warm petals against the deep blue ground adds warmth and visual interest. Because the motif is rich in detail and contrast, giving it an open wall surface allows each botanical shape to stand out without competing with tall storage units or heavily cluttered shelving.

Styling it

To balance the energetic pattern and rich color story, we suggest pairing this wallpaper with furniture in clean, understated silhouettes. Darker wood tones such as walnut or deep stained ash ground the composition and echo the richness of the navy backdrop, while natural, unpainted lighter woods can bring out the cheerful warmth of the yellows and oranges. Keep surrounding upholstery and large drapery relatively simple in solid, textured neutrals, allowing the floral artwork to remain the clear visual centerpiece of the room. A few ceramic accents or small decorative elements that pick up on the warm red and blush tones will help tie the surrounding decor together naturally.

Colour combinations

The design itself is built on an inspiring palette of deep midnight blue, rosy blush, fiery red, ochre yellow, burnt orange, and muted olive greens. When painting adjacent walls or selecting trim, a soft cream or muted warm white creates a gentle, airy contrast that lets the navy ground pop. If you prefer a more enveloping and dramatic environment, a deep navy or dark slate blue pulled directly from the background creates a seamless transition around the room. For accent textiles or occasional chairs, muted terracotta, dusty rose, or warm mustard tones drawn from the petals will harmonize effortlessly with the wallpaper.
