Wallpaper - Sheep in the Shade

Our Sheep in the Shade wallpaper brings a classic, pastoral landscape into the home through finely etched line work and a quiet, monochromatic palette. The composition centers on a gentle flock of sheep resting beneath the canopy of tall, leafy trees along a countryside path, set against an off-white, paper-toned sky. Intricate cross-hatching and fine linework give the foliage and grassy hillside depth without overwhelming the room with heavy color contrast. We make our mural wallpapers made-to-measure to fit your specific wall dimensions, printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical structure that adds depth to the printed artwork.

In the room

We see this design working especially well in a dining room, living room, or study where you want to introduce visual interest and an atmosphere of quiet countryside heritage. Because the upper portion of the motif is dominated by the open sky and delicate branches, the design keeps higher wall areas feeling light and spacious. On a primary living room wall or behind a dining table, the detailed lower foreground with the sheep and winding path provides grounding, while the vertical reach of the trees naturally draws the eye upward. In a home office or bedroom, using this wallpaper across an accent wall creates a calm, contemplative focal point that does not compete with functional furniture.

Styling it

To complement the vintage engraving style, we recommend pairing this wallpaper with furniture that carries simple, classic proportions and natural character. Darker wood tones such as walnut, antique pine, or aged oak echo the traditional feel of the print work, while painted furniture in muted stone or deep charcoal can provide a crisp, modern counterpoint. Soft linen drapery, textured wool throws, and simple iron or blackened metal accents sit comfortably alongside the organic line work without distracting from the pastoral scene.

Colour combinations

The wallpaper is composed of deep charcoal or sepia-toned ink against a warm, neutral parchment ground. When selecting surrounding wall paint and trim, we like using warm off-whites, creamy stone, or light greiges that seamlessly match the background tone of the paper. For a richer, more enveloping feel, dark forest green, warm charcoal, or deep olive on adjacent walls, doors, or millwork pick up the dark ink tones of the tree canopies and give the room an intimate, heritage-inspired atmosphere.
