Wallpaper - Backyard Boss V

Our Backyard Boss V wallpaper, designed by Anne Tavoletti, brings an expressive folk-art character to the wall with a proud, painted-style rooster as the central motif. Rich shades of red, warm golden yellow, earthy brown with polka-dot details, and varied blues across the plumage stand out against a soft, pale cream backdrop patterned with subtle floral silhouettes. Produced as made-to-measure mural wallpapers on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical surface structure, this design offers a charming, rustic statement with plenty of warmth and personality.

In the room

Because this wall mural features a single large animal illustration anchored by small painted plants at the base, we like it best as a feature wall where the central figure can be seen clearly. In a country kitchen, dining area, or breakfast nook, it naturally becomes the main focal point of the room. Giving the design an open section of wall, such as behind a dining table or above low sideboard furniture, keeps the full rooster silhouette and its painterly details fully visible.

Styling it

We would pair this design with warm, rustic interior elements that echo its traditional countryside charm. Natural warm wood finishes on dining tables, chairs, or open shelving work beautifully alongside the warm ochre and brown tones of the motif. Painted shaker-style cabinetry or soft neutral linen textiles help balance the bold primary reds and blues in the illustration, letting the wallpaper stand out without overwhelming the space.

Colour combinations

The design centres around rich cherry red, golden yellow, warm taupe-brown, sky blue, and deeper denim blue, set over an off-white background with pale beige floral patterns. To complement these shades on surrounding walls and trim, we recommend soft off-whites, creamy linen tones, or muted warm greys. If you prefer a richer accent color on woodwork or adjacent walls, an earthy olive green or muted navy picks up the darker notes in the feathers and foliage nicely.
