Wallpaper - Study in Green

Our Study in Green wallpaper by Wild Apple Portfolio brings an understated, painterly composition to the wall through a balanced grid of tonal green squares. Each block reveals distinct painted-looking brushstrokes, layering deep moss, olive, and earthy forest greens with subtle variations in visual depth and light borders. What we particularly like about this design is how the structured geometric grid anchors the organic, textured appearance of the painted surfaces. Produced as a made-to-measure mural, our PVC-free wallpapers feature a subtle physical structure in the paper that complements the visual depth of the artwork.

In the room

We see this wallpaper working especially well in spaces where you want a calm, grounding atmosphere without relying on busy pictorial motifs. In a dining room or living room, placing this mural across a wider feature wall gives the grid of green tones room to breathe and creates a confident architectural backdrop for everyday living.

The design also suits a study or home office. Because the geometric rhythm is orderly and the color palette is drawn from natural tones, it adds visual interest behind a desk or reading chair without feeling visually distracting. On walls that receive ample natural daylight, the subtle tonal shifts between the moss, olive, and darker green squares become even more expressive.

Styling it

When styling around this design, we prefer to let the green grid remain the primary visual focus. Clean-lined furniture with simple silhouettes pairs naturally with the structured layout, allowing the painterly texture within each square to stand out.

Lighter or mid-toned warm woods such as ash or natural oak bring a balanced warmth alongside the deep greens, while dark metal accents in matte black or aged bronze reinforce the graphic geometry of the grid lines. Choosing solid upholstery and quiet textured fabrics rather than competing patterned textiles keeps the overall room feeling cohesive and intentional.

Colour combinations

The palette of our wallpaper is anchored by an array of nuanced greens, ranging from muted olive and earthy sage to deep moss and dark forest tones, bordered by pale off-white lines.

To build a harmonious palette around the wall, we suggest pairing it with soft warm whites, chalky bone, or pale stone on adjacent walls and woodwork. If you want a moodier, more enveloping space, deeper charcoal or rich walnut tones in furniture and trim will draw out the darkest olive notes within the artwork.
