Wallpaper - Mountain Mamma

Created by Nathan Larson, our Mountain Mamma wallpaper captures the dramatic scale of a rugged alpine peak rising above deep evergreen forests and vivid turquoise glacial waters. What we particularly like about this design is the rich interplay of natural textures: the craggy rock faces streaked with warm ochre and slate, the dense rhythm of pine slopes, and the crisp expanse of pale sky. It brings an open, expansive presence to an interior without overwhelming the room. Like all of our mural wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure to fit your wall dimensions, printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, and designed to be straightforward to hang.

In the room

Because of the sweeping vertical composition and bold landscape scale, we see this wall mural working particularly well on a wide, uninterrupted wall in a living room, bedroom, or dining area. In a living room, placing the design along a main feature wall behind a sofa lets the mountain peak command the room, drawing the eye upward and creating a strong visual anchor. The calm turquoise water at the base sits naturally near floor level, grounding the space.

In a bedroom or home office, the motif works wonderfully on the wall opposite the entryway or behind a bed frame with a low headboard, ensuring the detailed mountain slopes remain visible. In rooms with generous daylight, the subtle tonal shifts in the rock face and the deep forest greens become especially rich and distinct.

Styling it

When styling around this wallpaper, we recommend keeping larger furniture pieces relatively grounded and uncluttered to let the landscape retain its sense of scale. A low-profile sofa in warm neutral upholstery or clean-lined wooden furniture in warm oak or ash complements the earthy tones of the rock and trees without competing for attention.

To echo the natural palette, introduce subtle accents in brushed black metal or ceramic finishes that pick up on the slate and stone tones. Surrounding textiles in textured woven wool, heavy cotton, or simple linen in off-white or charcoal will balance the rich turquoise and deep greens while keeping the overall room calm and inviting.

Colour combinations

The design itself centers around deep forest green, rugged slate grey, warm ochre, soft sky blue, and a vibrant turquoise water tone.

When choosing paint colors and materials for surrounding walls and trim, we like pairing this design with:

• Soft off-whites and warm greiges that echo the open sky and keep adjacent walls bright and airy.
• Muted slate greys or deep charcoal for doors, trim, or accent cabinetry to ground the darker tones in the rock face.
• Warm, earthy neutral tones like sand or light taupe that connect with the sunlit ridges of the mountain.
