Wallpaper - Food Phrases III

Created with designer Becky Thorns, our Food Phrases III wallpaper features the phrase "Bon Appetit" in expressive, hand-lettered brush script. The bold, dark navy lettering stands out crisply against a warm cream background, creating a playful and graphic focal point on the wall. The composition uses generous open space around the text, allowing the painterly strokes and textured edges of the calligraphy to carry visual character without overwhelming the surrounding interior. Like all our wallpapers and wall murals, this design is made-to-measure to your wall dimensions and produced on PVC-free paper with a subtle paper structure.

In the room

In a dining room or an open-plan kitchen, this mural wallpaper works naturally as a defined feature wall behind a dining table or breakfast nook. Because the text is large and visually centered, we recommend placing it on a wall that remains relatively clear of tall cupboards, high shelving, or bulky cabinets so the full lettering stays clearly visible. In a kitchen-dining area, the warm cream backdrop helps maintain an open, uncluttered atmosphere while the navy script introduces clear graphic personality.

Styling it

We would style this design with simple furniture silhouettes that complement its relaxed dining feel. Natural timber dining tables in light oak or warm ash bring organic warmth against the light background, while slender dark painted chairs or dark wood frames echo the deep navy brushwork. Keeping surrounding decorative elements understated, with simple ceramic tableware, clear glassware, and textured placemats, allows the bold typography to remain the central feature of the room.

Colour combinations

Our wallpaper pairs deep navy blue with a soft, warm cream base. For adjacent walls, matching that soft cream tone creates a cohesive, wrap-around atmosphere that lets the lettering stand out naturally. To introduce more contrast, deep navy on window trim, interior doors, or kitchen cabinetry anchors the room and echoes the script. Natural timber finishes and muted terracotta or olive green accents in surrounding accessories also pair nicely with the two-tone palette.
