Wallpaper - Wishful Kitten II

Created by artist Yvette St. Amant, our Wishful Kitten II wallpaper brings a playful, illustrative still life to the wall. The painted scene captures a fluffy white cat with expressive green eyes peeking over a table set with a delightful seafood feast. Arranged across an olive green patterned tablecloth are tins of sardines and caviar, a whole garnished fish on an oval platter, fresh bread, and a red-and-white striped vase filled with cheerful white daisies, all set against a soft blue polka-dot background. Made to measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, this mural wallpaper adds narrative charm and vibrant personality to any interior.

In the room

We love how this mural wallpaper instantly brings warmth and storytelling into spaces where people gather. In a dining area, kitchen nook, or breakfast room, the tabletop composition creates an engaging focal point that naturally complements the culinary atmosphere.

Because the illustration has a distinct narrative centre, we think it works best on an accent wall where the main elements remain visible, such as behind a dining bench, above lower kitchen wainscoting, or framing a casual seating corner. In a creative home office, hallway, or guest room, the lively gouache-style motifs and gentle sky-blue background introduce colour and lighthearted character without overwhelming the room.

Styling it

When styling around this design, we suggest leaning into relaxed, eclectic pieces that echo its handcrafted aesthetic:

• Pair the wallpaper with simple warm wood furniture, such as pine, ash, or light oak dining tables and bentwood chairs, which ground the painterly motifs in a cozy, welcoming setting.
• Introduce plain ceramic tableware, enamel accents, and striped or checked kitchen textiles in classic reds and creams to pick up on the bistro-inspired details of the table setting.
• Keep surrounding architectural trim and larger storage furniture in soft, quiet off-whites so the vivid colours of the fish platter, greenery, and vase remain the visual focus.

Colour combinations

Our wallpaper features a rich palette anchored by a soft powder blue polka-dot backdrop and warm olive green tones in the tablecloth. Bright crimson and cherry reds appear throughout the striped vase and platter edging, balanced by the clean white of the cat's fur and daisy petals, soft citrus yellows, and cool slate grey notes in the fish and sardine tin.

When choosing paint colours for adjoining walls and woodwork, we recommend gentle buttermilk tones, warm chalky whites, or muted sage greens that tie into the tablecloth. If you prefer a bolder contrast, a deep navy or rich rust red on adjacent doors or shelving creates a lovely dialogue with the primary accents in the illustration.
