Wallpaper - Leatherbound I

Created by Haley Knighten, our Leatherbound I wallpaper brings together broad, grounded fields of warm ochre, deep dark brown, muted grey, and charcoal, anchored by a central focal block of chalky cream white. The abstract composition has the visual character of layered acrylic brushwork, with visible textural edges where the distinct color blocks meet and overlap. Large, expressive shapes create a balanced, contemplative visual rhythm across the wall. Made-to-measure to fit your room dimensions, our PVC-free wallpapers are designed to be straightforward to hang with a subtle physical structure in the paper.

In the room

Because of its broad, large-scale abstract composition, we see this mural wallpaper working particularly well on an uninterrupted feature wall where the entire interaction of colors can unfold. In a living room, it sits naturally behind a low-profile sofa, grounding the seating area without overwhelming it with busy detail. It also makes a strong statement in a dining space or bedroom, where the deep brown and warm ochre tones create an enveloping, grounded atmosphere. With generous natural light, the subtle brushwork textures and soft contrasts between the grey, cream, and darker blocks become particularly noticeable.

Styling it

We would keep the surrounding furniture quiet and intentional, letting the wallpaper act as the primary visual focus in the space. Low-slung silhouettes in warm mid-tone wood or painted matte black complement the abstract geometric balance of the artwork. When choosing upholstery and larger accents, we suggest leaning into tactile, unpatterned fabrics that pick up the warm minimalism of the wall mural.

Colour combinations

The design itself centers around deep umber brown, warm ochre, cool stone grey, off-black, and a focal cream white. On surrounding walls and architectural trim, we would pair this wallpaper with soft off-white or a light warm stone grey to keep the room open while letting the darker fields anchor the space. For a richer, more enveloping feel, cabinetry or accent pieces in deep espresso or charcoal harmonize effortlessly with the mural's darkest elements.
