Wallpaper - Marsh Midlands I

Our Marsh Midlands I wallpaper brings an expressive, painterly landscape directly to your wall. Created by June Erica Vess, this design captures an abstract marshland through layered, horizontal brushstrokes in misty blues, soft moss greens, muted slate, and warm earthy neutrals. The soft gradient shifts from airy, pale tones near the top down into deeper, grounded strokes below, creating a gentle sense of horizon and depth. Like all our mural wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure to fit your room's exact dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

Because the composition builds upward from deeper tones to an airy, light sky, we especially like this design on a main feature wall where the horizontal movement has space to expand. In a living room behind a low-profile sofa or in a bedroom behind a headboard, the landscape format naturally anchors the furniture while keeping the upper half of the wall feeling open and calm.

The soft tonal transitions also make it work well in a dining area or a dedicated home study. In spaces with ample natural daylight, the subtle interplay between the cool water blues and warm olive-green washes reveals its full depth, while warm evening lighting highlights the earthy brown and sand tones.

Styling it

The painterly, impressionistic feel of this wall mural pairs beautifully with organic materials and relaxed contemporary interiors. We suggest leaning into natural textures that echo the landscape motif:

• Choose warm, light-toned woods such as natural ash, pale oak, or raw pine for furniture to harmonize with the neutral beige and sand tones in the upper composition.
• Layer in tactile textiles like textured wool throws, washed linen drapes, or a jute area rug to reflect the visual grain of the painted brushwork without competing with it.
• Select upholstery in soft charcoal, muted denim blue, or warm oatmeal, keeping large pieces relatively solid so the wallpaper remains the focal point of the space.

Colour combinations

The palette within our Marsh Midlands I wallpaper centers on soft slate blues, dusty sky blue, olive and sage greens, charcoal accents, and warm beige. When planning your surrounding room, consider using a soft, chalky off-white or light sand on adjacent walls and trim to mirror the airy tones at the top of the mural. For a more cocooning aesthetic, pulling a rich slate blue or deep moss green from the bottom brushstrokes onto nearby cabinetry, woodwork, or accent cushions creates a grounded, cohesive look.
