Wallpaper - Cheeky Cheetah I

Our Cheeky Cheetah I wallpaper, created with artist Yvette St. Amant, brings a whimsical, illustrative presence to the wall. The design features a spotted big cat lounging composedly across a tufted, powder blue sofa, framed by lush potted greenery, decorative patterned walls, and a painted gold-framed picture. Rich ochre, olive green, warm tan, and bold black spots balance with the cool sky blue of the settee, creating an expressive painted character full of charming details. Like all our wall murals, this design is printed made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle paper texture, making it straightforward to hang in your home.

In the room

Because of the illustrative, central composition, we see this wall mural working particularly well on an uninterrupted feature wall where the full painted scene can be appreciated. In a living room or sitting area, placing this wallpaper along a primary wall naturally establishes a lively, conversation-starting focal point. It also brings an unexpected, playful character to an entryway or hallway, where the detailed portrait greets you right away. For a creative home office or study, positioning the mural wallpapers behind a desk or low credenza keeps the artwork visible while adding visual warmth and personality to the workspace.

Styling it

When styling around such an expressive motif, we like to balance its painted narrative with understated surrounding elements. Keeping larger furniture pieces simple in silhouette lets the lounging cheetah remain the star of the room. Mid-century modern or classic vintage furnishings work especially well here, particularly in warm wood finishes like teak or walnut that echo the golden ochre background. Layering in tactile accents, such as a velvet cushion or a soft, neutral wool rug, complements the cozy tufted sofa in the illustration without competing with its rich patterns.

Colour combinations

The design centres around a striking contrast between the cool powder blue of the tufted settee and the warm golden-tan coat of the leopard. Deep black rosettes, olive green foliage, and warm ochre tones ground the palette, alongside subtle touches of berry pink in the decorative planter. For adjacent walls and trim, softer off-whites, warm biscuit tones, or a gentle sage green harmonize naturally with the scene. If you prefer a richer, more enveloping feel, pulling out the deep olive or a soft slate blue for woodwork creates a beautifully cohesive backdrop.
