Wallpaper - Colorado Open Range Saying

Captured by Nathan Larson, our photographic wall mural captures a palomino horse standing poised in an open grassland under soft, luminous daylight. The composition pairs the warm cream and golden-tan tones of the horse with sun-bleached grasses and a quiet, pastel-tinted horizon. Because the subject sits prominently within the open landscape, the visual scale feels expansive yet grounded. Like all Wallism wallpapers, this design is made to measure to your exact wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface texture.

In the room

Because of the photographic scale and atmospheric open background, we see this mural wallpaper working particularly well on a wide, uninterrupted wall where the full horizon has space to breathe. In a living room, placing it behind a low sofa keeps the subject clearly in view while adding a calm, open horizon to the space. It also works naturally in a bedroom behind the headboard, where the gentle daylight and quiet tonal transitions bring a restful visual character to the room. For a spacious hallway or home office, the perspective adds a sense of depth without overwhelming the surrounding interior.

Styling it

To complement the open photographic character of our design, we recommend keeping surrounding furniture simple with clean, grounded profiles. Warm timber furniture, such as natural ash, light oak, or honey-toned wood, harmonises smoothly with the golden coat of the horse and dry meadow grasses. Matte black metal hardware or slim lighting fixtures can provide a neat graphic contrast against the soft, sunlit background. For upholstery and soft furnishings, woven textiles in undyed wool, oatmeal, or textured cotton help maintain a natural, balanced atmosphere throughout the room.

Colour combinations

The palette within our wallpaper is built around warm palomino gold, soft cream, sunlit ochre, and muted meadow greens, offset by pale blush and hazy lilac tones in the sky. When painting adjacent walls or selecting major accents, soft neutral tones like sandy beige, warm off-white, and pale biscuit echo the light in the field. If you prefer a richer contrast, muted olive, sage green, or deep saddle brown drawn from the landscape create an earthy, cohesive look across the entire space.
