Wallpaper - Autumn Memories

Our Autumn Memories wallpaper, designed by Kathy Ferguson, brings together an expressive abstract collage of circular forms, fluid arched brushstrokes, and layered geometric panels. The composition balances earthy sage, deep forest green, and slate grey with vibrant notes of warm amber, soft orange, and ochre. Visual layers of painted textures, dotted concentric rings, and vintage script give the design a distinct mixed-media character that adds depth and artistic curiosity to a room. Like all of our wallpapers, this mural is made-to-measure to fit your wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

Because of the rich layering and distinct focal points in Kathy Ferguson's design, we see this working particularly well as an accent wall in a living room, dining room, or a dedicated home study. The composition carries enough visual interest to anchor a room on its own, making it an excellent choice for a wider, relatively uninterrupted wall behind a low sofa or a dining table where the circular motifs and sweeping arches have space to be appreciated.

In spaces with generous daylight, the subtle tonal contrasts between the deep teal-greens and muted sage areas become particularly apparent. For smaller areas like an entryway or a reading nook, using mural wallpapers with this level of collage detail creates an intimate, gallery-like atmosphere without overwhelming the surrounding architecture.

Styling it

To let the intricate collage aesthetic take center stage, we suggest keeping the surrounding furniture relatively understated in form and texture:

• Choose clean-lined furniture in warm wood tones, such as teak or mid-tone oak, which naturally echo the ochre and amber hues in the artwork.
• Introduce textiles in solid, grounded neutral tones like cream, warm grey, or muted moss green to balance the dynamic circles and dotted accents.
• Incorporate subtle matte black or aged bronze lighting fixtures to complement the deeper charcoal and forest green segments in the print.

Colour combinations

The palette in our design relies on a thoughtful interplay between cool, organic greens and warm autumnal accents. Deep emerald, sage, slate grey, and pale parchment form the grounded foundation, while vivid pumpkin orange, golden yellow, and touches of deep burgundy provide lively visual warmth.

When choosing paint colors for adjacent walls or trim, a soft off-white with warm undertones will keep the room bright while allowing the wallpaper mural to stand out. Alternatively, pulling out a muted sage green for surrounding woodwork creates a cohesive, enveloping feel throughout the entire interior.
