Wallpaper - River Mist

Our River Mist wallpaper, created by artist Julia Purinton, captures a quiet landscape enveloped in soft haze. The composition features an atmospheric expanse of sky blending downward into the subtle silhouette of distant riverbanks, wooded shores, and gently reflecting water. Rendered in an expressive, painterly style with visible canvas-like texture in the artwork, the palette moves gracefully through warm cream, soft beige, taupe, and muted slate tones. Produced as made-to-measure, PVC-free wall murals, our wallpaper brings a calm, expansive horizon to your interior.

In the room

We love how the gentle horizontal flow and open upper section of this design create a sense of breathing room in larger living rooms and quiet bedrooms. Because the lower portion carries the darker shorelines and river contours, it anchors furniture beautifully, whether placed behind a low sofa or a headboard. On a wide, uninterrupted accent wall, the full breadth of the misty river valley can unfold naturally, while in a dining room or home office, it introduces an understated, contemplative backdrop without competing with everyday life.

Styling it

When styling around this design, we recommend keeping the surrounding interior relaxed and tactile. Low-profile furniture in pale oak, ash, or painted neutrals complements the soft horizon without cutting across the scenic balance. Natural linen drapery, textured wool rugs, and muted ceramic decorative pieces harmonize effortlessly with the painterly depth of the artwork. Subtle, warm lighting from floor lamps or wall sconces helps bring out the warmth in the cream and beige tones during the evening.

Colour combinations

The design itself is built on a serene harmony of warm cream, oatmeal, muted taupe, soft charcoal, and pale slate grey. To create a cohesive space, we suggest pairing it with surrounding wall paint in soft off-whites, warm greige, or gentle muted stone. For deeper contrast, charcoal or espresso accents in upholstery or picture frames can subtly pick up the darker tones in the riverbank foreground.
