Wallpaper - Flowers in the Hayfield

Created by Krystal Adams, our Flowers in the Hayfield wallpaper captures an expansive rural vista with a rich, painterly visual character. The horizontal composition layers rolling green meadows, golden strips of hayfield, and delicate wildflowers in the foreground against a soft, pale blue sky. Fine dabs of white, blush pink, soft cornflower blue, and ochre give the impression of blooming meadows stretching toward the horizon. Produced as made-to-measure mural wallpapers on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical structure, this design brings open visual perspective and an artistic countryside feel to your walls.

In the room

Because of its broad horizontal landscape format, we find this wall mural works exceptionally well on wide, uninterrupted walls where the full breadth of the scenery can unfold. In a living room or behind a dining table, the low horizon line opens up the room visually, drawing the eye across the layered fields. It also creates a serene focal point behind a bed in a bedroom, where the quiet sky and earthy greens introduce a balanced, grounded backdrop.

The design suits spaces with good natural light, which helps highlight the subtle shifts between sage, olive, wheat, and sky blue. In compact spaces or entryways, applying it across an entire feature wall can create a surprising sense of depth, giving the impression of looking out across an open summer meadow.

Styling it

The impressionistic style and rustic subject matter pair naturally with interiors that embrace organic warmth and timeless character. We would combine this wallpaper with mid-tone or warm timber furniture, such as oak or elm, to complement the golden hay tones in the landscape.

To maintain visual balance, keep larger upholstered furniture relatively quiet in texture and tone, allowing the expressive brushwork of the mural to remain the focal point. Matte ceramic accents, simple woven wool rugs, and linen drapery in natural oat or soft white work beautifully alongside the artwork without competing with its intricate wildflower details.

Colour combinations

The motif contains a balanced palette of mossy greens, sage, golden straw, dusty pink, pale sky blue, and flecks of cream. Around the wallpaper, we suggest drawing out the paler sky tones or soft off-white on adjacent walls and ceiling surfaces to keep the space open and airy.

For woodwork, trim, or cabinetry, deeper olive greens or muted sage echo the layered foliage in the lower half of the design and create a grounded, cohesive transition. Warm neutrals like clay, oatmeal, and untreated linen also harmonize effortlessly with the sunlit field tones.
