Wallpaper - Cheetah Mates I

Created by Yvette St. Amant, our Cheetah Mates I wallpaper brings together an expressive composition of wildlife and decorative art. The design centres on two cheetahs, one sitting poised and the other resting languidly, set against two classic blue and white ceramic-style vases filled with delicate pink flowers. A dense backdrop of deep green palm leaves frames the entire scene, giving the motif a rich, painted character full of charm and personality. Produced made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface texture, this wallpaper makes an instant statement as an accent wall in a living room, dining space, or bedroom.

In the room

Because of its strong narrative focus and painterly detail, we like this design best on an accent wall where the central composition can be enjoyed in full. In a living room, placing this wall mural behind a low-backed sofa or along a main wall keeps the cheetahs and ornate vases clearly in view. It also brings an inviting, conversational mood to a dining room, framing a table setting with distinctive character.

In a bedroom or dressing room, the rich green background creates a grounded, enveloping atmosphere. The visual weight of the motif holds up particularly well in spaces with standard or higher ceilings, where the vertical reach of the palm fronds and vase arrangements can expand comfortably without feeling cut off.

Styling it

The artistic character and vibrant subject matter of this mural wallpaper call for a considered balance in surrounding furnishings:

• Anchor the space with dark or warm-toned wooden furniture, such as walnut or rich teak, which echoes the warmth in the cheetahs' coats while complementing the deep green background.
• Select upholstery and textiles in solid, textured fabrics rather than competing patterns, allowing the detailed artwork to remain the clear visual focal point.
• Introduce subtle blue and white ceramic pieces or brass accents elsewhere in the room to tie naturally into the colours and classic elegance of the vases in the print.

Colour combinations

The palette of our wallpaper is anchored by a lush forest green ground, accented by the crisp cobalt blues and pure whites of the decorative vases. The warm ochre and sandy tones of the cheetahs provide an earthy middle ground, finished with gentle touches of soft rose pink in the flowers.

When decorating around this design, we suggest pulling the warm cream or crisp off-white tones onto adjacent walls and woodwork for a clean, luminous contrast. If you prefer a richer and more intimate setting, deep olive, forest green, or navy blue painted trim can effortlessly frame the wallpaper. For upholstery and soft furnishings, warm camel, cognac leather, and muted navy create an effortless sense of balance.
