Wallpaper - Snowbound Cab

Our Snowbound Cab wallpaper, created with artist Kate Jarvik Birch, captures a glowing yellow taxi driving along a snow-covered city avenue under a dark winter sky. The painterly artwork combines deep blues and cool icy tones with vibrant yellow headlights, warm streetlamps, and amber window lights reflected on the snowy street. Falling snowflakes add dynamic movement across the entire composition, creating a vivid urban scene full of atmosphere and painterly character. Like all our mural wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure to fit your wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical structure.

In the room

Because of its expressive perspective and scenic scale, we see this wall mural working particularly well on an uninterrupted focal wall in a living room, hallway, or home office. Placing the design behind a sofa, a low media console, or along an open entryway wall gives the perspective and street scene room to be seen in full. In a study or creative workspace, the rich contrast between deep evening blues and warm yellow lights brings character and depth without overwhelming the rest of the room.

Styling it

When styling around this design, we suggest keeping larger furniture pieces relatively simple to allow the painterly artwork to remain the central focus. Darker wood tones, black metal accents, or clean mid-century modern silhouettes complement the urban architectural forms in the scene. Upholstery in warm neutrals, charcoal, or navy helps ground the room, while textured wool throws or velvet cushions can pick up the warm glow of the taxi and streetlamps.

Colour combinations

The palette is built around deep indigo, slate blue, and cool icy whites, balanced by bright taxi yellow, amber, and warm streetlight glows. For adjacent walls and trim, softer cool grays, deep blues, or muted off-whites blend naturally with the winter atmosphere. If you want to introduce warmer accents through decor, honey-toned woods, mustard textiles, or terracotta ceramics echo the glowing lights within the painting.
