Wallpaper - Plaster and Ebony I

Our Plaster and Ebony I wallpaper, created with June Erica Vess, brings together abstract expressive brushwork, layered tonal patches, and raw impasto-like visual texture. The design balances deep charcoal and ebony blacks with warm plaster beige, stone taupe, and striking chalky off-white highlights. Broad painterly sweeps, scraped marks, and subtle linear accents create a dynamic collage of depth and movement across the wall. As one of our made-to-measure mural wallpapers, it is printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical surface structure that complements the painterly aesthetic.

In the room

We love seeing this design make a statement in a living room, dining area, or bedroom where the expressive scale can unfold across an uninterrupted feature wall. Plaster and Ebony I carries substantial visual weight and graphic drama, so placing it behind a low-profile sofa or as the backdrop to a dining table gives the artwork room to breathe without competing with tall storage units. In a spacious entryway or study, it establishes a sophisticated, art-led atmosphere immediately upon entering.

Because of the rich contrast between the dark charcoal tones and lighter plaster sections, natural daylight brings out the varied depths of the brushwork and scraped detailing. In evening lighting, softer warm lamps draw attention to the earthy taupe undertones, creating an intimate and grounded interior feel.

Styling it

When styling around this wallpaper, we recommend letting the expressive wall mural serve as the primary visual focus while keeping surrounding elements tactile and sculpturally simple:

• Balance the strong brushstrokes with contemporary furniture featuring clean silhouettes, low profiles, and matte black or dark stained finishes.
• Layer in textiles in natural tones like raw linen, woven wool, and unbleached cotton to echo the plaster beige and chalk white tones found in the motif.
• Introduce architectural ceramics, stone accents, or blackened steel lighting fixtures that complement the bold, modern abstract composition without adding competing patterns.

Colour combinations

The palette in our wallpaper centres on rich ebony, faded charcoal, warm plaster beige, and muted chalk white.

To create a cohesive interior, we suggest pairing this design with adjacent walls in soft warm taupe, pale mineral beige, or off-white to maintain a balanced, open look. For a moodier, more enveloping space, you could introduce dark charcoal woodwork, matte black trims, or deep espresso accents that tie directly into the darker brushstrokes of the composition.
