Wallpaper - In the Country

Created by Carson Overstreet, our In the Country wallpaper captures a peaceful rural landscape rendered with broad, expressive brushwork. The composition features a weathered barn nestled beside a sunlit golden field, bordered by a rustic wooden fence in the foreground and framed by lush green trees and distant blue hills under a soft summer sky. The painted texture and painterly strokes give the scenery a relaxed, open feel that brings warmth and natural depth to an interior. Like all our mural wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure to your exact wall dimensions on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface texture.

In the room

We love seeing this landscape mural on a main feature wall where the horizontal expanse of the field and sky has space to unfold. In a living room or dining area, placing the mural behind a low-backed sofa or credenza keeps the barn and rolling fields in clear view while opening up the feel of the room. It also works wonderfully in a bedroom behind the headboard, creating a gentle, grounded focal point to wake up to. Because the artwork has a wide visual perspective and soft distant hills, it brings a sense of breathing room to compact spaces such as home offices, breakfast nooks, or entryways without overwhelming the architecture.

Styling it

The warm pastoral mood of this design pairs naturally with relaxed, comfortable interior pieces that let the scenery take center stage.

• Choose furnishings in warm wood tones, honey oak, or painted neutral finishes that echo the earthy, rural character of the barn and landscape.
• Layer in upholstery and cushions in textured weaves, muted flax, or soft olive tones to complement the layered green and gold brushstrokes.
• Keep wall decor on adjacent surfaces minimal so the painted scenery remains the clear visual centerpiece of the room.

Colour combinations

Our wallpaper brings together vibrant meadow greens, warm golden yellows, weathered grey-browns, and serene sky blues. To build a cohesive palette around the wall mural, we suggest painting adjacent walls in a soft warm cream, pale wheat, or a muted moss green drawn from the foliage. For window trim, baseboards, or built-in cabinetry, an earthy taupe, soft stone, or deep slate blue provides a grounded contrast that highlights the sunlight in the open field.
