Wallpaper - Wild Oats II

Created by Deborah Revell, our Wild Oats II wallpaper captures the delicate, graceful silhouettes of wild grass stems set against a warm, neutral backdrop. The composition is defined by its open negative space and fine linear detail, giving the motif an understated, botanical presence on the wall. We love how the slender oat heads draw the eye upward with quiet visual rhythm. Like all Wallism mural wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure to fit your wall dimensions and is completely PVC-free, with a subtle texture in the paper that complements its artistic character.

In the room

The airy, asymmetrical placement of the botanical stems makes this design particularly well suited to rooms where you want visual calm and an uncluttered feel. In a bedroom, we see this working beautifully behind a headboard or along a quiet side wall, where the generous negative space creates an open, tranquil atmosphere. In a dining area, living room, or calm home office, giving this design a wider, uninterrupted wall allows the tall stems and expansive background to be appreciated without interruption. Because the pattern relies on delicate lines rather than heavy coverage, it enhances a room without overwhelming surrounding architectural features.

Styling it

We recommend pairing this wallpaper with interior elements that echo its organic simplicity and clean lines. Low-profile furniture in pale or warm wood tones, such as ash or light oak, complements the earthy botanical motif without competing for attention. Keeping surrounding upholstery and soft furnishings in textured, natural weaves like linen or unbleached cotton maintains the serene mood. Subtle dark accents, such as a matte black lamp base or a simple picture frame, can pick up the deeper tones of the stems and ground the space nicely.

Colour combinations

The design itself centers around deep charcoal and soft sepia tones set against a pale cream, warm off-white background. When choosing colors for adjacent walls, trim, or cabinetry, we suggest pulling directly from these soft neutral foundations. Tones like warm ivory, soft bone, or muted oatmeal flow naturally from the background. For a richer, more grounded accent in surrounding furniture or decorative pieces, deep charcoal, muted bronze, or warm slate grey will echo the fine botanical details in the stems.
