Wallpaper - A Very Big Cat Nap

Our A Very Big Cat Nap wallpaper, created by Kate Jarvik Birch, brings a relaxed yet dramatic presence to an interior. The painted motif features a magnificent tiger lounging across a plush emerald green vintage sofa, combining rich orange, warm amber, and deep forest green tones with painterly brushwork. What we particularly like about this mural design is the charming contrast between the wild tiger and the domestic comfort of the antique settee. Produced made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface texture, our wallpapers are easy to hang and make an unforgettable statement.

In the room

Because of the scale of the central tiger and the sofa composition, we see this wall mural working particularly well on an open, uninterrupted feature wall. In a spacious living room, dining room, or a moody study, giving the mural enough visual breathing room lets the entire scene unfold naturally. Placing it along a main accent wall behind a low credenza or keeping the wall completely unblocked allows the full painted illustration to take centre stage.

Styling it

When styling around this mural wallpaper, we suggest balancing the bold personality of the artwork with classic, tailored furnishings:

• Choose low-profile furniture in rich dark woods or warm walnut to echo the frame of the painted settee without obstructing the tiger motif.
• Introduce velvet or heavy woven upholstery in deep tones that complement the rich green sofa in the illustration.
• Keep surrounding decorative accents quiet, using muted antique brass or dark bronze details that tie into the vintage mood.

Colour combinations

The palette in our wallpaper centres on rich emerald and moss greens, warm amber orange, and soft cream highlights, anchored by deep charcoal shadowing. For adjacent painted walls, deep olive or forest greens create an intimate, enveloping atmosphere that extends the scene. If you prefer a lighter contrast, warm off-white or soft biscuit on trim and adjacent surfaces highlights the vibrant orange coat of the tiger while keeping the space feeling open.
