Wallpaper - Family Time

Our Family Time wallpaper, created by Krystal Adams, captures an expressive rural scene featuring a mare and her young foal standing in an open pasture. What we particularly like about this design is the painterly brushwork across the landscape, where grassy greens, soft sky blue, warm chestnut browns, and touches of earthy terracotta blend together with an impressionistic feel. The composition places the horses slightly off-centre against a backdrop of fenced fields and gentle trees, giving the mural wallpaper a grounded yet lively character. Made to measure for your specific wall dimensions, our wallpapers are PVC-free and printed on paper with a subtle physical structure.

In the room

Because of the scenic composition and the scale of the horses, we think this design works best on a relatively uninterrupted wall where the full painted landscape has space to breathe. In a living room, placing it along a main feature wall behind a sofa or low sideboard allows the figures to remain clearly visible without being cut off by tall furniture. It also brings a warm, welcoming presence to an entryway or hallway, where the open pasture creates an immediate sense of depth. In a bedroom or guest room, positioning the mural behind the bed anchors the room with a calm, pastoral backdrop.

Styling it

The rich chestnut tones of the horses and the earthy greens in the field make this design easy to pair with natural materials and warm, understated decor. We would look towards:

• Warm wood furniture, such as medium-toned oak or rustic timber, which echoes the earthy palette of the pasture.
• Simple linen or woven upholstery in oatmeal, biscuit, or warm cream to keep the surrounding space feeling light and relaxed.
• Muted bronze, brass, or blackened metal accents on lighting and hardware to provide a subtle, grounded contrast against the softer brushstrokes.

Colour combinations

The palette in the wallpaper is built around warm chestnut and russet browns, sage and meadow greens, pale sky blue, and gentle flecks of cream and rust. When decorating around it, we recommend pulling the softer background tones onto adjacent walls with creamy off-whites, warm biscuit, or pale earthy beige. If you prefer deeper contrast, a rich olive green or muted clay tone on surrounding woodwork or cabinetry ties into the foreground brushwork without competing with the horses.
