Wallpaper - Gentle Equine

Our Gentle Equine wallpaper by Nathan Larson brings an intimate, photographic perspective into the home. Captured in close detail, the motif focuses on the soft profile of a horse with a resting eye, delicate eyelashes, and rich chestnut-brown coat paired with gentle white markings. The macro scale highlights the fine visual texture of the fur against a quiet, neutral background, creating a calm and grounded presence. As one of our custom mural wallpapers, it is made to measure and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, making it easy to hang.

In the room

Because of the close photographic scale and soft visual focus, we see this wall mural working particularly well as an accent wall in a bedroom or a quiet living room. Placing the design behind a bed headboard or across a main living room wall allows the large-scale portrait to anchor the space without feeling chaotic. In a home office or reading corner, the subdued palette and gentle subject matter bring warmth to the surrounding wall areas. We recommend giving the motif a relatively open wall where the detailed expression of the horse is not overly obscured by tall, solid shelving.

Styling it

We would style this design by echoing its earthy, organic tones through quiet furniture choices and understated materials. Pieces in light or warm wood tones sit naturally against the warm chestnut coat, while soft linen or brushed cotton textiles in oat, cream, or muted taupe help balance the photographic realism of the wall. Keeping surrounding wall decor minimal lets the wallpaper serve as the central visual artwork in the room.

Colour combinations

The motif itself is defined by deep chestnut, warm tan, soft cream, and muted off-white tones. When painting adjacent walls or selecting major furnishings, we suggest pairing this wallpaper with soft off-white, warm beige, or muted taupe to maintain a cohesive, enveloping atmosphere. For subtle contrast, deep espresso brown, muted charcoal, or warm clay tones in accents and textiles can ground the palette while highlighting the rich amber shades in the horse's coat.
