Wallpaper - Dreams Of A Dapper Fox

Our Dreams Of A Dapper Fox wallpaper, created with Kate Jarvik Birch, captures a quiet moment with a red fox curled up asleep on a deep emerald green armchair. The design features a gouache and watercolor-like painted character, where rich russet, warm amber, and vivid orange fur contrasts with cool forest green upholstery and soft wooden accents. It brings an illustrative, storybook quality to the room while keeping a rich, grounded color balance. Like all of our wallpapers, this mural is made-to-measure to fit your wall dimensions and is printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle paper texture.

In the room

Because of the bold scale of the sleeping fox and the rich contrast between the orange and deep green, we see this working especially well on an accent wall. In a living room, bedroom, or a cozy reading nook, placing this wall mural behind a low sofa, a bed, or a low bookcase allows the character of the fox to remain in full view. In a nursery, child's room, or guest bedroom, the warm illustrative feel creates an inviting, characterful focal point without overwhelming smaller spaces when kept to a primary focal wall.

Styling it

To let the expressive artwork lead the room, we suggest keeping nearby furniture grounded and relatively simple. Warm wood pieces such as mid-century walnut or natural oak echo the tones in the fox's coat and the wooden armchair trim, while dark green velvet or muted linen upholstery ties directly into the green armchair backdrop. Soft, matte finishes on side tables and shelving help keep the focus on the painted texture of the mural wallpapers.

Colour combinations

The palette within our design centres around rich burnt orange, warm amber, deep forest green, and hints of charcoal and soft white. When choosing surrounding wall colors or textiles, muted olive, sage, and deep pine greens create a rich, cohesive feel that carries the armchair's tones across the space. Alternatively, pairing the mural with warm off-white, oat, or subtle terracotta on adjacent walls allows the vivid orange coat to stand out cleanly while maintaining a warm, comfortable interior.
