Wallpaper - Moonlit Garden I

Our Moonlit Garden I wallpaper, created by Katie Pertiet, brings a vintage botanical collage to life with an expressive central butterfly set against aged paper ephemera, calligraphic script, and soft foliage. The central butterfly motif, rendered in detailed charcoal and soft blue tones, anchors the composition amidst torn-paper textures, painterly white brushwork, and subtle sepia botanical elements like "Hexandrian Plants" typography. Soft beige, muted parchment, faded green, and delicate black ink tones give this wall mural a curated, heritage look. Like all Wallism mural wallpapers, this design is made to measure to fit your exact wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical structure.

In the room

Because of its centered focal point and balanced, vintage collage composition, we especially like this wallpaper on a feature wall where the artwork can be appreciated without heavy visual interruption. It works wonderfully behind a low headboard in a bedroom, where the soft parchment tones and graceful butterfly motif create a quiet, grounding presence. In a living room or dedicated home office, placing the mural on the primary viewing wall allows the intricate typography and botanical layers to serve as a conversational statement piece. Giving the design an open wall area ensures that the delicate script and torn-edge details remain visible and uncluttered by tall shelving units.

Styling it

When styling around this mural, we recommend leaning into vintage-inspired or relaxed contemporary aesthetics that echo its layered, artistic character.

• Pair the wallpaper with warm wood furniture, such as mid-toned oak, walnut, or lightly aged painted wood, which naturally complements the sepia paper tones.
• Choose surrounding upholstery and drapery in understated, unpatterned natural fabrics to keep the visual focus centered on the intricate artwork.
• Incorporate subtle matte black or antique brass hardware and lighting fixtures to pick up on the fine calligraphic lines and detailed charcoal wings of the butterfly.

Colour combinations

The design itself centers on warm parchment, aged beige, and soft cream, accented with charcoal black, muted dusty blue, and soft botanical greens. To create a cohesive look across adjacent painted walls, we recommend pulling out the gentle cream or soft warm taupe from the background. If you prefer more depth, painted accents or trim in a muted dusty blue or deep charcoal can frame the mural beautifully and highlight the delicate details of the butterfly wings.
