Wallpaper - My Iceland Plot III Crop

Our floral wallpaper, created by Shirley Novak, captures an open meadow of poppies rendered with a fluid, watercolor-like appearance. Washes of scarlet, warm orange, soft peach, butter yellow, and translucent white bloom against a soft, olive and chartreuse background. Larger, expressive blossoms anchor the lower foreground with visible stems and curving buds, while lighter petals drift upward in a gentler, more open rhythm across the upper wall. The painted-looking texture and luminous color transitions give the design a fresh, artistic energy. Like all Wallism wallpapers, this motif is produced made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical structure.

In the room

We especially like how the composition builds naturally from the floor upward, making this mural wallpaper an engaging backdrop behind lower furniture. In a living room or behind a dining table, the larger blossoms along the base ground the space, while the lighter, more scattered blooms above leave plenty of visual breathing room near eye level.

Because the meadow motif features plenty of organic movement, we see this working well on a main accent wall where the full height of the flowers can stretch uninterrupted. In a bedroom, placing the design behind the bed allows the warm poppies to act as a natural focal point without feeling overwhelming.

Styling it

We would balance the painterly vibrancy of the poppies with calm, grounded furnishings. Mid-toned or lighter woods, such as ash, natural oak, or birch, echo the organic feel of the botanical illustration without competing for attention.

For textiles and upholstery, choosing simple, unpatterned fabrics in off-white, oatmeal, or unbleached linen lets the detailed floral washes stand out. Keeping surrounding decorative accessories minimal and organic in form helps maintain a light, airy atmosphere throughout the room.

Colour combinations

The wallpaper brings together a lively palette of poppy red, terracotta orange, apricot, and soft white set over muted moss and yellow-green undertones.

When selecting paint for adjacent walls or woodwork, we recommend pulling out the quieter background tones. A warm off-white, soft ivory, or a muted, pale olive on nearby trim and cabinetry creates a seamless, grounded connection to the artwork. If you prefer a stronger contrast, pulling small accents of warm terracotta or ochre through cushions or ceramic details ties the foreground blossoms into the wider room.
