Wallpaper - Bowl Of Fresh Lemons

Our Bowl Of Fresh Lemons wallpaper brings a vibrant still-life composition to the wall with a painted, expressive character. Created by Morgan Birch, the artwork centres on a decorative ceramic bowl patterned with blue floral motifs, filled with bright yellow lemons and framed by fresh green leaves against a deep blue background. Below, scattered lemons rest on a tablecloth with soft blue and warm ochre accents. What we particularly appreciate about this mural wallpaper is the confident brushwork and high visual contrast, giving the motif an immediate, cheerful presence. Produced made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical structure, it adds an artful focal point to the room.

In the room

Because of its painterly still-life composition and bold primary palette, we see this wall mural working especially well in a dining room, kitchen, or breakfast nook. The design creates a natural visual anchor behind a dining table or along an open kitchen wall where the scale of the bowl and fruit can be appreciated from across the space.

In an open-plan living and dining area, we would give this wallpaper a dedicated feature wall rather than wrapping an entire room. The strong contrast between the deep midnight blue upper section and the crisp white tabletop gives the design significant visual weight, making it ideal for defining a specific zone within a larger floor plan. For a smaller space, such as an entryway or powder room, placing the design on a wall with minimal visual obstruction allows the full painted scene to shine without feeling crowded.

Styling it

When styling around this mural wallpaper, we suggest keeping larger furniture relatively clean and understated so the vibrant artwork remains the focal point. Mid-toned or lighter natural wood pieces, such as a simple oak dining table or ash shelving, bring warmth without competing with the bold yellow and blue tones.

For surrounding accents, we like echoing the Mediterranean-inspired elements found in the motif. Classic white tableware, glazed blue ceramics, or simple woven placemats naturally complement the tablecloth and painted bowl. If you are selecting curtains or larger textiles nearby, plain, unpatterned fabrics in off-white or soft linen tones keep the overall room balanced and let the painted brushwork take centre stage.

Colour combinations

The palette in our wallpaper revolves around sun-drenched lemon yellow, rich cobalt and navy blue, crisp white, leafy green, and touches of warm ochre.

When choosing colours for surrounding walls, trim, or cabinetry, a clean warm white or soft cream makes a natural backdrop that lets the deep blue and bright yellow pop. If you prefer a richer, more enveloping feel, drawing the dark navy blue from the background onto adjacent painted walls or baseboards creates an intimate, sophisticated atmosphere. Soft chalky blues or muted sage greens also work harmoniously by picking up the secondary tones within the foliage and decorative ceramic pattern.
