Wallpaper - Blooming Americana III

Our Blooming Americana III wallpaper, designed by Laura Marshall, brings together traditional quilt-inspired patchwork motifs with hand-lettered text reading "Stars and Stripes Forever". The composition frames the central typography with varied decorative squares featuring painterly florals, delicate ribbons, stars, and classic geometric quilt blocks. Rendered in a lively palette of cobalt and denim blue, warm red, blush pink, and crisp off-white, this design has the charming character of folk art textiles. Produced as made-to-measure, PVC-free wall murals on paper with a subtle physical structure, our wallpaper creates an expressive focal point in classic or cottage interiors.

In the room

Because the design centres around a bold typographical statement and intricate patchwork patterns, we see it working particularly well as an accent wall rather than across all four sides of a room. In a guest room or bedroom, giving this mural wallpaper an uninterrupted wall behind a bed allows the full framing of the quilt blocks to remain visible without being split by tall cabinetry.

In a playroom, craft room, or a casual entryway, the playful scale and varied pattern blocks bring warmth and personality. The distinct border and central lettering make it natural to treat the wall almost like a large-scale textile hanging, where lower furniture like a bench, low console, or daybed can sit comfortably below the focal centre.

Styling it

When decorating around this design, we recommend balancing the intricate patchwork patterns with simpler surrounding elements. Clean, solid painted furniture in soft off-white, deep navy, or muted blue lets the decorative panels stand out without visual clutter.

Natural light wood or vintage painted pieces fit naturally with the Americana and cottage aesthetic. To maintain balance, keep larger textiles such as bedding, rugs, and curtains solid or subtly woven, drawing tone from the cream, soft denim, or blush shades found in the artwork.

Colour combinations

The design itself is built on a vibrant, nostalgic palette including bold cobalt blue, cornflower blue, tomato red, coral pink, blush, and warm off-white.

When choosing adjacent wall paint or surrounding accents, we like pairing this wallpaper with soft, warm whites or gentle ivory to let the bold tones remain crisp. For a moodier, heritage look, a deep navy or muted denim on neighbouring walls or millwork ties directly into the primary lettering. If you prefer a softer, sunnier feel, pulling the pale blush or a warm terracotta-pink into accent cushions or painted furniture adds a subtle, harmonious contrast.
