Wallpaper - Playful Vase I

Illustrated by Cheryl Warrick, our Playful Vase I wallpaper brings together graphic floral forms and rich contrast. The design centres on a soft pink vase decorated with gentle wavy lines, filled with warm peach and coral blooms with spiral line work and stylised teal foliage. Set against a deep, textured navy background, the still life composition creates a bold focal point with a painted, folk-art-inspired character. Produced as made-to-measure mural wallpapers on PVC-free paper with a subtle paper structure, our design provides an expressive way to anchor a room with pattern and warm colour.

In the room

Because of its central still life composition and distinct contrast, we see this wall mural working particularly well as an accent wall in a dining room, living room, or welcoming entryway. Positioning the wallpaper on a wall behind a low credenza, sideboard, or dining table keeps the lower portion of the vase grounded while allowing the floral arrangement and deep blue ground to fill the upper visual field.

In a bedroom, we would place this design behind the headboard to establish a warm, artistic focal point that anchors the entire space. The dark navy background lends intimacy to smaller rooms like a study or guest room, where the scale of the motif can wrap the space in rich colour without overwhelming the surrounding layout.

Styling it

When styling around this wallpaper, we suggest balancing the bold graphic quality of the motif with simple, warm furniture shapes and clean silhouettes. Low-profile wooden pieces in natural oak or mid-toned timber provide an organic warmth that complements the peach and coral flowers without competing for attention.

To let the artwork remain the clear hero of the room, keep surrounding upholstery and curtains relatively quiet. A simple woven sofa in neutral cream, oatmeal, or muted navy echoes the palette naturally, while touches of matte ceramic or warm brass lighting subtly pick up on the playful curves of the vase and blooms.

Colour combinations

The palette of our wallpaper is anchored by the deep midnight navy background, balanced by the soft dusty pink of the vase, the teal green of the leaves, and the warm peach and coral tones of the flower heads.

For adjacent walls and woodwork, we recommend pulling directly from these core shades. A soft warm white or muted parchment on surrounding walls keeps the overall room light and fresh while letting the navy backdrop stand out. Alternatively, painting trim, doors, or built-in shelving in a deep, complementary ink navy creates a cohesive, wrap-around atmosphere. For decorative accents and textiles, muted terracotta, dusty rose, and dark forest green sit comfortably alongside the illustrated botanicals.
