Wallpaper - Plum Iceland Plot II

Created by Shirley Novak, our Plum Iceland Plot II wallpaper brings a luminous meadow of Icelandic poppies across the wall with a light, watercolor-like character. The composition features open poppy blossoms in deep plum, warm amber, soft yellow, and white, floating against a soft chartreuse and washed green background. Delicate stems and slender green buds ground the lower section of the design, while the fluid washes and gentle pigment bleeding give the motif an airy, organic movement. Our mural wallpapers are made-to-measure to fit your specific wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

We love how this floral design establishes an open, painterly feel without overpowering the surrounding space. In a bedroom, placing this design behind the bed creates a soft, inviting focal point where the upward growth of the poppy stems and the luminous blossoms naturally frame the sleeping area. The airy composition also works beautifully in a living room, dining area, or entryway, especially on an uninterrupted accent wall where the delicate color bleeding and varied blossom scales have space to unfold. With generous daylight, the subtle transitions between the chartreuse washes, white petals, and warm ochre accents become particularly vivid.

Styling it

Because our wall murals carry rich painterly movement and multiple color accents, we recommend pairing this wallpaper with furniture that has clean, understated lines. Warm natural wood tones like light oak or birch complement the golden yellow and amber washes in the petals, while painted furniture in off-white or muted cream keeps the room feeling calm and cohesive.

When choosing surrounding textiles, soft neutral fabrics in unpatterned weaves let the floral motif remain the main decorative focus. Accents in muted plum or olive green can be drawn from the blooms and stems to tie smaller details into the broader interior scheme.

Colour combinations

The design itself is built on a delicate palette of rich plum, soft yellow, warm amber, white, and leafy green over an airy chartreuse wash.

When painting adjacent walls or selecting trim, we suggest drawing from the lighter tones in the artwork. Soft ivory, warm chalk white, or a very pale, muted olive create a harmonious transition that lets the colors in the wallpaper stand out naturally. For upholstery or larger rugs, neutral tones like warm stone or sand work well to ground the space, while subtle plum or dusty rose accents can be introduced in cushions or ceramic decor to echo the deeper poppy petals.
