Wallpaper - Eyes Are Watching VII

Our Eyes Are Watching VII wallpaper brings together classical portraiture and graphic geometry within an ornate, antique-style gold frame motif. Created by Wild Apple Portfolio, the design centers on a close-up gaze framed by a circular dial with sharp black rayed triangles and numerical degree markings, layered over a soft flesh-toned composition with painted craquelure texture. It creates an intriguing focal point that works wonderfully as an accent piece, offering a distinctive blend of historical art and surrealist curiosity. Like all our wall murals, it is made-to-measure and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

Because of its strong central focal point and framing, we see this mural wallpaper working particularly well on a feature wall where the entire motif can be viewed without heavy interruption. In a living room, placing it centered above a low-profile credenza or sofa lets the eye motif command attention without competing with tall furniture. In a study, library, or hallway, the artwork introduces an intellectual, gallery-like presence that invites closer inspection.

Styling it

To let the intricate gold moulding and graphic dial stand out, we suggest pairing this design with relatively understated, classic or mid-century modern furniture. Deep, saturated wall colours or warm dark woods like walnut complement the rich antique gold tones, while matte black accents echo the stark triangular indices of the inner dial. Keeping surrounding wall décor minimal allows the framed composition to function as the primary statement in the space.

Colour combinations

The palette in our wallpaper revolves around warm antique gold, deep black, and soft neutral flesh tones with subtle hints of amber and hazel in the eye. When selecting surrounding paint colours and finishes, rich charcoal, warm off-white, or deep olive green create a grounded backdrop that enhances the golden frame without clashing with the central artwork.
