Wallpaper - Plaster and Ebony II

Our Plaster and Ebony II wallpaper by June Erica Vess brings together bold painterly patches, gestural brushwork, and the visual texture of layered plaster. Deep ebony and charcoal tones contrast with warm plaster beige and chalky white highlights, creating an abstract composition with substantial graphic presence. The broad, layered blocks and expressive marks give the design an architectural character that works particularly well when given space to unfold across an accent wall. Like all Wallism mural wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure to fit your wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

Because of its expressive scale and strong tonal contrast, we see this wallpaper working especially well on a wide, uninterrupted wall in a living room, dining area, or open-plan space. The layered composition carries enough visual weight to anchor a room effortlessly, making it a natural backdrop behind a low-profile sofa, a dining table, or a minimalist bed frame. In a home office or study, it introduces an artistic backdrop that feels structured rather than busy. For narrower entryways or hallways, installing it along one continuous stretch of wall creates a striking visual entrance that draws the eye inward.

Styling it

When styling around this design, we suggest keeping surrounding furniture clean-lined and understated to let the expressive qualities of the wall mural remain the focal point. Low-slung furniture in muted upholstery lets the abstract shapes breathe, while elements in blackened steel, smoked glass, or dark-stained oak echo the deeper charcoal and ebony passages in the print. To balance the dark tones, introduce tactile accents in unbleached linen or textured wool, alongside matte stoneware or ceramic lighting.

Colour combinations

The palette in the wallpaper centres on deep ebony, charcoal grey, warm plaster taupe, and chalky white. When choosing paint for adjacent walls and woodwork, warm off-white and soft putty tones create a harmonious, cohesive transition that softens the high contrast. If you prefer a moodier atmosphere, pairing the wallpaper with deep charcoal or slate grey on surrounding trims and doors creates an enveloping, gallery-inspired feel. For furniture and larger textiles, neutral tones such as sand, ecru, and rich espresso anchor the space without competing with the motif.
