Wallpaper - Nantucket Morning

Our Nantucket Morning wallpaper, designed by Kathy Ferguson, brings together horizontal bands of mixed-media collage, abstract mark-making, and soft coastal tones. The composition layers painterly strips in sky blue, deep navy, lilac, soft cream, and subtle stripes, punctuated by thin accents of vivid magenta. Expressive graphite scribbles and swirling white painted gestures sit alongside subtle paper and textile visual textures, creating a relaxed, modern abstract horizon. Made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, our wall murals are easy to hang and give any space an artistic, considered backdrop.

In the room

We love seeing this design across a wide, uninterrupted wall where its horizontal rhythm can stretch out and define the proportion of the space. In a living room or behind a low bed in a bedroom, the banded collage works naturally as a focal landscape without overwhelming the room. Because the palette balances cool blues and purples with crisp off-white sections, it brings light and open visual energy to spaces that might otherwise feel narrow or compact. It also sits beautifully in a quiet home office or hallway, where the intricate hand-drawn pencil details and painterly textures reward closer viewing.

Styling it

When styling around our Nantucket Morning wallpaper, we suggest pairing it with clean-lined furniture that lets the horizontal movement of the artwork take center stage.

• Choose lighter wood finishes such as bleached ash, pale birch, or light oak to echo the sandy, paper-like warmth in the paler bands.
• Bring in soft neutral upholstery in ecru, washed linen, or light grey to balance the expressive marks without competing for attention.
• Add small accents in brushed brass or matte indigo ceramic to quietly reflect the navy depths and warm undertones in the collage.

Colour combinations

The palette in our wallpaper centres around cool ocean blues, lavender, slate, and clean paper white, sparked with sharp lines of magenta. When choosing wall colours or paint for surrounding trims, a soft chalky white or muted lavender-grey creates an airy, cohesive transition that lets the mural breathe. For a richer, more enveloping feel, pulling out the deep navy or ink blue from the lower band onto adjacent walls or cabinetry adds dramatic contrast while keeping the overall interior feeling grounded and curated.
