Wallpaper - Drift II

Created by Yvette St. Amant, our Drift II wallpaper brings together expressive, sweeping brushwork in a balanced palette of soft cream, warm grey, taupe, and crisp white. What we particularly appreciate about this mural wallpaper is the sense of open space, where dense, painterly gestures in the upper and left areas transition softly into an airy, calm background. The layered, painted-looking texture gives the design subtle depth while keeping the overall impression gentle and refined. Like all our wall murals, this design is printed made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a light, subtle paper structure that is straightforward to hang.

In the room

Because of the way the composition moves from deeper, textured brushstrokes into open cream tones, we see this working exceptionally well as an accent wall in a living room, bedroom, or dedicated dining area. On an uninterrupted wall behind a sofa or bed frame, the asymmetrical weight of the motif creates a natural focal point without overwhelming the surrounding space.

In rooms with plenty of daylight, the subtle tonal shifts between the warm grey, taupe, and white brushmarks become especially clear. For more compact spaces or home offices, placing the design on a wall where the lighter passage sits nearest the window helps keep the room feeling open and serene.

Styling it

We recommend letting the painterly character of the wallpaper lead the room, balancing it with understated furniture and clean silhouettes. Low-profile seating in off-white, oat, or muted grey fabric allows the expressive artwork on the wall to remain the central feature.

When introducing wood finishes, lighter tones such as bleached ash or natural oak pair effortlessly with the soft background, while a touch of darker walnut can echo the deeper taupe strokes. Keeping rugs and window dressings plain and unpatterned ensures the visual focus stays on the wall mural.

Colour combinations

The palette within our design rests on a foundation of warm cream, chalky white, soft beige, and layered taupe-grey tones.

To create a cohesive scheme around it, we suggest carrying soft ivory or warm off-white onto adjacent painted walls and woodwork. If you prefer subtle contrast, picking up the deeper taupe for painted trim, larger textiles, or occasional furniture pieces will ground the lighter areas of the mural beautifully.
