Wallpaper - River Runs Through

Our River Runs Through wallpaper, created by Krystal Adams, captures a serene landscape composition built in broad, painted-looking horizontal bands. The motif transitions smoothly from a wildflower-dappled meadow in the foreground across a calm, pale river, rising into dense evergreen tree lines and soft, atmospheric mountain silhouettes against an open sky. We love the painterly brushwork and the balanced, grounding palette of soft blues, deep forest greens, muted sage, and subtle ochre floral flecks. Made-to-measure for your specific wall dimensions on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, it brings an expansive, scenic presence to any room.

In the room

Because of the horizontal landscape structure and scenic depth, we see this wall mural working particularly well on a wider, uninterrupted feature wall. Placing it along a main living room wall behind a low sofa or across the headboard wall in a bedroom allows the visual horizon to expand the room naturally without feeling broken up.

The layered bands of color naturally draw the eye horizontally across the room, which makes it an excellent choice for grounding spaces with lower or standard ceiling heights. If you are decorating a dining area or a dedicated home study, keeping furniture along the lower third allows the mountains and open sky to remain prominent, keeping the overall atmosphere open and airy.

Styling it

To complement the painterly, natural character of the mural wallpapers, we suggest pairing the design with furniture that has clean, understated lines and warm, grounding materials.

• Choose natural warm wood furniture, such as medium oak or ash, to bring out the earthy tones in the meadow and balance the cooler blues across the upper mountains.
• Keep surrounding textiles relatively simple, opting for woven neutral fabrics on upholstery and curtains in off-white, oat, or unbleached tones that do not compete with the scenic artwork.
• Introduce subtle accents in matte black metal or warm brass to echo the deeper shadows in the forest line and add quiet definition to the space.

Colour combinations

The wallpaper is defined by a cool yet grounded palette consisting of dusty slate blue, pale sky tones, deep spruce green, soft meadow sage, and touches of warm golden ochre in the foreground flowers.

When choosing paint for adjoining walls or woodwork, we recommend pulling directly from the lighter tones within the sky and water for a cohesive, airy look. If you prefer more depth, a muted moss green or dusty blue on adjacent walls will seamlessly extend the atmospheric landscape into the rest of the room.
